Business Analyst NON IT

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake detailed financial modelling to support the program team develop and measure metrics required for the programs detailed benefits realisation plan.
  • Lead the consolidation of multiple data sources to enhance data integrity.
  • Undertake detailed Capital planning analysis and to create a 3 year program of works that supports the various customer sector groups.
  • Lead extensive stakeholder engagement activities required to obtain and clarify required data sets.
  • Consolidate data relevant to financial management function to identify opportunities to enhance transparency of cost settlements and budget allocations.
  • Conduct detailed financial modelling to support JIA strategy business case development.       
  • Lead the preparation of monthly variance analyses and management reports in consultation with Finance, the executive and managers to support timely and sound decision making across complex multi departments
  • Deliver regular monitoring, reporting and forecasting of financial activity to ensure spend within the business meets allocated costs and escalate variance to spend to the Executive and Finance to facilitate decision making.
  • Provide financial analysis, insight and recommendations to the executive to support the preparation of annual business plans and projects for various departments in the cluster, and to communicate financial performance
  • Provide expert advice on budgeting and forecasting including responding to enquiries on financial policies and issues from stakeholders to ensure effective consultation and communication of financial issues.
  • Partner with the executive on strategic initiatives to deliver accurate and timely financial information and advice regarding financial issues and projects.
  • Lead the development of budgets in consultation with the Director, Project Managers, and other stakeholders including negotiation of budget gaps to ensure sound budget planning processes that meet current and future requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the unit to achieve efficiencies and improve customer service including processes and training.

Essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance and CPA or CA qualifications.
  • Strong experience in providing complex financial information, planning, budgeting and forecasting and advice that supports organisational decision making.
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
