Project Manager Asset Services

  • Location: Central Coast, Gateshead
  • 6 month contract
  • Pay Rate to the candidate: $480/day + Super


Hunter Central Coast Asset Management Unit is looking to engage an experienced skilled Project Manager to work within the Units Capital Delivery Team.  The successful applicant will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of projects within NSW Public Schools.  These projects will be multiple and varied in scope and value.


About School Infrastructure NSW:

School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.


Primary purpose of the role:

•            Project Management, delivery of capital construction projects

•            Procurement of consultants and construction contractors, preparation of associated documentation, tendering and evaluation processes and engagement of contractors

•            Contract Administration and reporting

•            WHS Management

•            Site Supervision

•            Finance management


Key accountabilities

•            Develop detailed scope of works, construction programs and government contract documentation

•            Assessing school capital project applications and undertaking feasibility and delivery functions.

•            Project management, including procurement, financial management, programming and contract administration.

•            WHS monitoring, administration and reporting.

•            Site supervision, liaison with school principals and project support to colleagues.

•            System administration.


Key challenges

•            Ensuring that competing work priorities are met within agreed and often demanding timeframes

•            Respond professionally to enquiries from a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and be able to work independently or as a team member when required

•            Delivery of a range of diverse projects in a high volume work environment

•            Maintain a high standard of quality service and advice to clients, manage tight deadlines, and deliver capital works and facilities management over a large number of sites.

•            Professionally deal with contentious asset related issues to achieve the best outcome for students, staff and the Department.


Essential requirements

•            Drivers licence

•            Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies
