Purpose of the role:
Project manage the transformation of our water treatment plant from water recycling to wastewater treatment. This role will involve a comprehensive upgrade encompassing mechanical, electrical, and select civil tasks such a pipelaying. The project entails brownfield maintenance and upgrade delivery, including the installation of underground piping.
Your deliverables in the role:
- Manage the successful delivery of medium to high-risk projects from initiation to handover, adhering to NEC4 and Program Delivery framework.
- Actively drive collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams internally and other delivery partners to ensure consistency, accuracy and efficiency in project delivery, cost and risk management across allocated projects.
- Contribute to the development of the Program, and project manage NEC4 based contracts in any of the following areas:
o Professional Services
o Design and Construction Works ($5-$20m+ in project value)
- Develop and align Project Plans with the government agency and partners, defining targets and objectives.
- Proactively manage stakeholder engagement, risks, schedules, procurement, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Prepare Business Cases for medium to high-risk projects, including analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct regular meetings with partners, manage risks, schedules, and compliance matters.
Experience you must have for this role:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant or related field or experience deemed equivalent
• Proven project management experience, delivering large and multi-faceted complex water projects, is essential!
• Proven leadership / senior management experience is required
• Experience working with key business stakeholders
• Significant years of industry experience, including in:
- Working within and leading large, multi-disciplinary integrated teams and/or alliances
- Design and construction project delivery within the infrastructure/utilities sectors
- NEC4 contract management and administration
- Managing complex stakeholders
- Program management and/or regional delivery of multiple investment programs
- Delivery via a range of contracting models
You will possess a combination of these skills and experiences to apply for the role:
- Brownfield Delivery Expertise: Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects in brownfield environments, navigating challenges associated with existing infrastructure, and ensuring seamless project execution.
- Treatment Plant Upgrades: Proven track record of overseeing treatment plant upgrade projects, including but not limited to process enhancements and mechanical/Electrical system improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conversion of Waterline: Proven expertise in the conversion of waterlines, specifically transitioning from recycling water systems to wastewater management solutions
- Processing or Mechanical Aptitude: Strong background in processing or mechanical project management within the water industry, with a comprehensive understanding of treatment processes and equipment.
- M&E in Water: In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to water infrastructure, including pumps, valves, and control systems, to effectively manage and troubleshoot project requirements.
- Network Project Experience: Previous involvement in network-type projects, encompassing the construction and management of water distribution networks, demonstrating proficiency in coordinating complex project logistics and stakeholders.
- Civil Proficiency: Sound understanding of civil principles, with hands-on experience in civil construction methodologies, ensuring the successful integration of civil works within project timelines and budgets.
