TRC wins lunchtime league

TRC Group Football Team reigned victorious in the Lunchtime Legends League. The league is composed of teams from twelve organisations based in Sydney CBD, such as Westfield, Genesis, PPB Advisory, Citi, Reeds, State Street and Propex, to name a few.

After a rain-hit season that had seen many games cancelled, the two teams left standing were TRC and Ragball Rovers (State Street). Rovers went into the game as favourites due to remaining unbeaten all season and their 8-0 semi final win. Their organised defence meant that TRC Group had to play to their strengths and remain organised to come out as Champions. TRC Group did just that with the winning goal being one for the books. Owain "The Cat" Evans, placed in goal due to extra pounds put on during a recent trip to Europe, picked out Mark "The Real Deal" McGreal on the left wing who then directed a header straight into the path of David "Kevin" Keegan who - like a bullet - took his shot and won it for the team.

A notable mention is also due to Charlie "Big Spuds" McGillian, who put in a true Captains performance in defense and ensured that no goals were leaked despite unyielding pressure from the opposing team, the Ragball Rovers.
