About the Role
As a DevSecOps Engineer you'll be at the intersection of cloud engineering, security, and automation. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who understands infrastructure as code, knows how to build and manage secure Azure environments, and can integrate security controls across the development lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools
- Automate security processes and implement DevSecOps best practices across CI/CD pipelines
- Develop and maintain scripting solutions in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Work closely with developers and cloud engineers to ensure security is embedded from code to production
- Integrate and manage tooling for vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and policy enforcement
- Monitor and respond to security events using Azure-native tools (Sentinel, Defender for Cloud) and 3rd-party solutions
- Collaborate on architecture and design decisions to ensure secure-by-design principles
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in Azure cloud engineering, with strong understanding of PaaS/IaaS services
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, ARM templates, or other IaC tools
- Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Deep understanding of DevOps pipelines and secure SDLC integration (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Familiarity with security tooling like SAST/DAST scanners, Key Vault, Defender, Sentinel, or other SIEM platforms
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management, secrets handling, and Zero Trust principles
- Bonus: Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g. Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST)
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to SIEM/SOAR technologies (e.g., Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic) or interest in growing into that space
- Experience implementing or working under Zero Trust architecture
- Ability to work in a small, high-paced SME team that pivots quickly to changing priorities
- Background in monitoring, alerting, and security orchestration is a strong bonus
- Practical understanding of how to operate securely in a regulated environment (banking, insurance, fintech, etc.)
