Scrum Master – Lending/Mortgages & Legal Tech
Join a fast-evolving legal services provider supporting the lending and mortgage industry on a mission to become a Lending Legal Tech leader. They're looking for a passionate Scrum Master to guide and empower cross-functional teams through Agile delivery practices, helping bring secure, compliant, and customer-focused digital products to life.
As they continue their transition from a traditional legal services provider to a technology-driven business, the Scrum Master will play a critical role in accelerating product delivery through Agile frameworks. This new role supports high-performing teams to deliver innovative legal and financial technology solutions while meeting strict regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitating Agile Delivery: Lead all key Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives), ensuring consistent sprint cadence and achievement of sprint goals.
• Removing Impediments: Identify blockers and facilitate timely resolution to maintain delivery flow and minimise delays.
• Coaching & Agile Maturity: Coach squads and stakeholders on Agile principles and values, and help mature Agile practices across the organisation.
• Ensuring Governance & Compliance: Ensure Agile delivery is traceable and auditable, and that practices align with legal, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Driving Team Performance: Maintain Agile metrics (burn-down charts, velocity, throughput) to report accurately on performance and drive measurable team improvement.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, Engineers, Legal SMEs, and leadership to promote alignment, ensure transparency, and communicate progress effectively.
• Championing Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospectives and implement agreed team improvements. Encourage a culture of learning, feedback, and accountability.
• Business Analysis Support: Assist in refining user stories, gathering and clarifying business requirements, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical delivery.
About You:
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile product and technology teams.
• Previous experience in lending and mortgages and/or Legal Tech.
• Strong grasp of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, ideally in regulated or legal/financial tech environments.
• Ability to promote Agile practices and coach teams of varying maturity.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving delivery impediments and coordinating cross-team dependencies.
• Experience in aligning Agile delivery with governance, legal, and compliance obligations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.
• Competence in managing delivery metrics and using insights to drive continuous improvement.
