About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Programme Manager to define, implement, and lead the Application Management Services (AMS) capability within a major SAP transformation programme.
This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of build, transition, and run — ensuring a smooth handover from programme delivery into steady-state operations. You will play a critical role in shaping the Target Operating Model for AMS, managing vendor partnerships, and guaranteeing a stable, high-quality post–go-live support environment.
This role offers the opportunity to influence how a global programme operates long-term, build structures from the ground up, and directly contribute to ensuring business continuity after one of the organisation’s most significant go-lives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Target Operating Model (AMS within Build)
- Define and establish the AMS capability during the Build phase.
- Ensure coverage of steady-state support and minor change delivery, aligned with Run, avoiding overlap or duplication.
- Lead tendering processes and commercial negotiations for short-run AMS requirements.
- Create a robust framework that balances immediate build-phase support with long-term sustainability.
2. Transition to Run
- Lead structured transition activities from Build to Run, ensuring smooth handover and minimal disruption.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, playbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Manage readiness reviews, hypercare planning, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned for go-live support.
3. AMS Capability & Vendor Oversight
- Establish governance and engagement with AMS vendors to support the Build phase.
- Ensure AMS teams can manage defect fixes, small enhancements, and ongoing support.
- Define interfaces with the future Run service management function.
- Track AMS readiness and performance against defined KPIs.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in Application Management Services (AMS) within large-scale ERP or SAP programmes.
- Strong expertise in transition-to-run planning, hypercare, and service management design.
- Experience overseeing vendor performance, governance frameworks, and contractual negotiations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to align build and run teams towards a common goal.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and design pragmatic solutions.
