We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead migration and enhancement initiatives for our data warehouse and automation systems. This is a part-time role (3 days/week) with the flexibility to work fully remotely. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
This contract will run till the end of June 2026.
About the Role:
You will manage and execute the migration from legacy Azure platforms to Microsoft Fabric or Databricks, ensuring seamless integration and optimized performance. This includes:
Incorporating GIS workloads into Python-based workflows
Optimizing data pipelines for efficiency and scalability
Supporting architectural decisions to drive sustainable data solutions
Rationalizing or decommissioning Power Automate workflows and facilitating transitions to Workato
Key Requirements:
Extensive hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and distributed data processing
Proven ability to operate effectively within complex enterprise or government environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for workflow and pipeline optimization
Experience supporting architectural decisions in large-scale data environments
