Senior Software Engineer - OOP
Hybrid - Dublin
Our client, a leading life insurance and investment company based in Dublin's Docklands, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic development team. This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days on-site per week and offers the opportunity to lead pivotal software projects and transformation initiatives.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to design and develop high-quality software solutions using object-oriented programming principles. You will be instrumental in defining software component architectures that encourage reuse and scalability across projects, while collaborating closely with team members and stakeholders to prioritise and refine software requirements.
Key responsibilities include leading testing and maintenance efforts, ensuring code quality through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration. You'll troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to architectural strategies to modernise existing features by adopting advanced design patterns and contemporary technologies.
Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and interns is a core aspect of this role, fostering professional growth and maintaining a culture of engineering excellence. Additionally, you will develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to software components and integrations.
Qualifications required for this opportunity include a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in object-oriented software development. Proficiency in languages such as C#, Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C++ is essential. Strong knowledge of software design patterns like SOLID, hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and agile methodologies are also expected.
