We are currently partnering with a Public Body on the recruitment of a Senior Data Migration Specialist to lead and advise on a critical system replacement project. This is a 12 month day rate contract with the possibility of extension. Previous public sector experience, as well as the right to work in Ireland is essential.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead data migration activities for a major transformation programme.
- Assess existing data landscapes, databases, and integrations.
- Develop migration, validation, and cutover strategies.
- Define data mapping, transformation, and cleansing requirements.
- Provide oversight of migration delivery, quality, security, and governance.
- Manage risks and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Experience
- 7+ years' experience in data migration, database architecture, or related fields.
- Previous experience working in the public sector
- Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and ETL/ELT tools.
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS data platforms.
- Proven track record delivering complex enterprise-scale migrations.
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and compliance.
