Our client, a leading investment management technology firm, is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join their Asset Management Technology group based in Galway, Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative software systems supporting High Income Alternatives, primarily built and operated on AWS.
Role Overview
As a Senior Java Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend components, transforming user stories into efficient, scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives. This role demands a commitment to quality code, strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based backend systems using frameworks like Spring Boot and Kafka.
- Implement frontend solutions using React, Typescript, Angular, and state management tools.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to software development best practices.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins to automate deployment processes.
- Identify and resolve performance and reliability issues, enhancing system scalability and stability.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on technical and design decisions.
Your Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience with Java backend development and related web frameworks.
- Proficient with frontend technologies including React, Typescript, Angular, and state management (e.g., NGRX).
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and system design principles.
- Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
