Our client, a financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Synon Developer to support and enhance its business-critical lending platforms on an initial 9 month day rate contract.
The role
- Design, develop and maintain applications using Synon/CA 2E on IBM i (AS/400)
- Develop and modify RPG, RPGLE and CL programs
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, defects and data issues across Synon, RPG and DB2
- Work with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver enhancements
- Write SQL queries and perform data analysis to support business and operational needs
- Monitor and troubleshoot IBM i environments, including job and performance monitoring
- Take part in release deployments and production validation
What you'll bring
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting applications with Synon/CA 2E on IBM i (AS/400)
- Strong RPG, RPGLE and CL programming skills
- Solid knowledge of IBM i systems and architecture
- Experience with SQL and DB2
- A background supporting large, complex legacy applications in production
- Strong troubleshooting skills and clear communication with business stakeholders
Nice to have
- Financial services, lending, mortgage or loan servicing experience
- Experience in regulated, mission-critical production environments
- Exposure to web services, REST APIs or system integrations
- Involvement in IBM i modernisation work
