Group Application Support Manager

  • Hybrid role - 3 days/week in Dublin City Centre office
  • Up to €105k/year + excellent bonus and benefits
  • Interviews happening next week

To be considered, you must hold at least a Stamp 4 and reside in the Dublin area.

This is a senior role responsible for the ongoing support, performance and continuous improvement of a portfolio of enterprise applications, with a particular focus on Finance systems and SAP.

The ideal candidate will combine strong SAP and Finance systems knowledge with practical application support leadership, excellent stakeholder management and a proactive approach to improving services and taking ownership of new responsibilities.

Working closely with senior business stakeholders, Finance teams and strategic technology partners, you will take ownership of application support delivery, ensure service commitments are met and drive improvements across the application landscape. You will play a key role in managing an established outsourced support model while helping expand the application portfolio as the organisation continues to evolve, including the introduction of new platforms and technologies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day support and performance of a portfolio of enterprise applications, ensuring service levels, KPIs and business requirements are consistently met.
  • Manage and prioritise incidents, service requests and escalations, ensuring critical issues are resolved effectively and appropriate root-cause analysis and follow-up actions are completed.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Finance stakeholders, translating technical issues, dependencies and delivery timelines into clear business terms.
  • Provide direction and oversight to third-party application support teams, managing priorities, challenging delivery commitments and ensuring high-quality service.
  • Take ownership of the Finance applications portfolio, including SAP and related financial systems, ensuring effective support, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead application changes and projects from requirements and planning through testing, implementation and transition into business-as-usual support.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new applications and services, ensuring appropriate documentation, support processes and operational readiness are in place.
  • Manage application access, licensing, security requirements and performance monitoring in line with organisational policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate change management, disaster recovery and business continuity activities for critical applications.
  • Support internal and external audits, tracking risk and audit actions through to resolution.
  • Produce clear service performance reports and communicate progress, risks and improvement initiatives to senior stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve operational efficiency and take on responsibility for additional applications as the technology landscape expands.

Your Experience

  • Significant experience in application support, application management or enterprise application service delivery within a complex organisation.
  • Strong SAP experience, ideally involving Finance systems such as SAP HANA/S/4HANA, SAP BPC, SAP Group Reporting or SAP Concur.
  • A solid understanding of Finance systems and the business processes they support, with the ability to engage confidently with Finance stakeholders and technical support teams.
  • Demonstrable experience managing application incidents, problem management, change control, service performance and continuous improvement.
  • Proven project management and delivery experience, including coordinating technical teams, managing dependencies and driving initiatives through to completion.
  • Experience managing third-party service providers or outsourced application support teams, with the confidence to challenge suppliers and hold them accountable for delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to manage expectations, explain technical constraints and influence senior decision-makers.
  • Experience with service transition, application onboarding or expanding an existing application portfolio.
  • An understanding of IT risk, audit, access controls, security and operational resilience within a regulated or business-critical environment.
  • ITIL certification or equivalent practical experience in IT service management would be advantageous.
  • Experience within financial services, banking, insurance or another regulated environment would be beneficial.
