OK !! So you're on the hunt for a great new role and thinking of contracting through TRC. Although we're not there just yet we want to give you as much flexibility as possible if everything goes ahead.

We've worked with thousands of contractors over the years and most understand how everything works – but if this is your first time with TRC you have a number of options available to you as an independent contractor, depending upon your own personal circumstances.

Just let your consultant know your preference and when we get to signing on the dotted line (fingers crossed). It will speed up the process. 


The 4 Options :


( minimal administration )

A PAYG Independent Contractor is not an employee but is someone who opts to be an Independent Contractor without an ABN.  In this situation The Recruitment Company does not require an invoice but pays Superannuation and PAYG tax on your behalf.  Here is an example of a PAYG Contract.

As a PTY Independent Contractor you need your own PTY Ltd company, ABN, ACN and are responsible for all you own taxes, superannuation and statutory contributions.  This includes the three important insurances : Workers Compensation, Public Liability and Profession Indemnity.  We will also need an invoice from you to make any payments. This is an example of a PTY Contract.

TRC are the experts at recruitment, our contractor management partner Ayers are the experts at payroll.  These guys provide a streamlined payroll and contractor management solution. All of our systems are integrated so timesheets, invoicing and payments can be conducted seamlessly with Ayers and they can help with salary packaging, salary sacrifice and business expense processing services. We will also work with other management companies if you have another one you prefer.  We engage with you on a PTY Contract for this option.

As an Independent Contractor you are not eligible for Annual Leave, Personal Leave, Long Service leave or any other employee benefits. 


( become a contingent employee )

As an employee of The Recruitment Company we will withhold 15% of your hourly or daily rate which is held in trust until the end of your employment with us. You are then paid monthly and receive 20 days annual leave, 10 days personal leave and 9 days public holiday.

During the recruitment process you will discuss a contracting rate with your consultant. Should you opt to become a contingent employee of The Recruitment Company, for the duration of your contract this contracting rate is reduced to take into account the paid annual leave, personal leave and public holidays you have opted for. This is our contingent employee Contract.
