Data Engineer x 2– Platform Transformation

I’m working directly with the Head of Data Engineering and the Head of Data Platforms & Architecture to bring on two strong Data Engineers who want to help build and shape the foundations— not just inherit the tech debt. 

The Opportunity

We’re rebuilding a national data platform—shifting from siloed and scattered to streamlined, stable, and smart. It’s not greenfield. It’s better.

This is real-world complexity, supported by engineering, architecture, analytics and governance leads who want you to think boldly and build systems that last.

This platform supports decision-making across hundreds of retail sites and high-volume transactions nationwide.

You’ll be:

  • Designing and optimising pipelines using Python, Spark, SQL, and Databricks

  • Working across a hybrid environment (on-prem + Azure) that’s being rebuilt from the ground up

  • Shaping frameworks for versioning, orchestration, and automation — think CI/CD, not copy/paste

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impact across buying, ops, and enterprise decisions

  • Embedding yourself in a team that values trust, momentum, and practical engineering

The Package

  • Base salary: ~$125K–$130.7K + 11.5% super

  • Total package: $139,248 – $145,783 (inclusive of super)

  • Location: Sydney West | Hybrid work model
