You’ll evaluate, refine, and evolve the platforms our client relys on — from antivirus and backup tools to quoting systems and RMM. This includes working closely with automation (mainly RMM and PowerShell scripting), staying ahead of security and ISO27001 alignment, and leading their Standards Committee.
You won’t be on the service desk, and you won’t be hands-on day to day but if a tool breaks or needs rethinking, they’ll look to you. You’ll work closely with the CEO, who’s fully supportive of fresh ideas and encourages innovation and autonomy. This is a role you can make your own, with scope to build a team around you in the future.
Your Responsabilities:
Audit current tools - is the organisation using them well? Are they overlapping? Are they getting value?
Recommend, trial, and implement new tools across the internal stack and client offer.
Evaluate integrations, reporting, and automation potential across platforms like Kaseya, K365, Webroot, and more.
Identify manual, repetitive tasks and automate them (RMM, PowerShell, scripts, etc.).
Ensure internal processes and systems are efficient, scalable, and secure.
Lead initiatives to standardize tool usage across all clients.
Serve as Head of the Standards Committee, shaping how they work internally and what they deliver externally.
Ensure tool choices and processes align with ISO27001 and other compliance frameworks.
Work with the wider team to document processes, update policies, and stay ahead of security best practices.
Train the wider team on tools, processes, and best practices.
Provide documentation and onboarding materials to help others get the most from the tools they use.
Act as the go-to for platform-related issues or improvements, without being hands-on day to day.
Your Experience:
Experience working in an MSP environment - non-negotiable.
Strong background in IT engineering (L2/L3 level) with excellent troubleshooting skills.
A natural drive to automate — you've built processes before and solved recurring problems with smart solutions.
Familiarity with RMM tools (especially Kaseya), scripting (PowerShell), and general platform management.
Awareness of ISO27001 and how tooling connects to security posture (you won’t manage certification, but you’ll align with it).
Curiosity and proactivity, someone who asks “what happens next?” and sees the bigger picture.
Excellent soft skills - clear communication, follow-up, and the ability to build trust across the team.
