Business Manager

The Service Company is one of Australia's leading suppliers of IT services to NSW Government. But we're just getting started. We are now approved to supply IT services to Queensland and Victoria State Governments and to the Australian Federal Government.  

We're a lean operation, with an internal team of 3 and a consulting team of approximately 35. We share operations with (and are supported by) the broader TRC Group, one of Australia's leading employers.

We are looking for someone to take the organisation to the next level. Our current Business Manager is moving internally so we are looking for someone who can take on a broad role which will incorporate:

  • Key account management of large accounts
  • Project oversight on key projects
  • Partnership development
  • New business sales supporting our BDM
  • Business, sales and marketing strategy
  • People management

Our specialisation is the public sector rather than any specific IT sector, hence we have a wide range of projects and case studies including cyber security, intranet builds, network rollouts, DevOps, testing, software development, SAP, Salesforce, Pega, monday.com, project management, product management, managed services and strategy. We are also certified monday.com partners and resellers. Ideally you will have a good mix of the following:

  • Experience of selling IT services - managed services and projects
  • Experience of account management of large and medium sized clients (ideally within public sector)
  • A broad range of IT knowledge including ERP, infrastructure, cloud and software development concepts
  • Experience of delivering large IT projects
  • Agile and/or Lean experience as well as knowledge of other IT standards and approaches
  • Experience leading and growing a business or team within a larger business
  • Willingness to work at all levels of the business (from high level strategy through to administration - we have a small team so its all hands on deck)

Most of all you will need to bring energy, ideas, passion for service and a genuine interest in our amazing public service clients. 

You will run the business within the context of the broader TRC Group strategy, values and goals but will have autonomy to grow the business. You will be supported by the HR, marketing and operations functions within TRC Group and will have a place at the table developing group strategy.

The role requires someone who can manage a broad role spanning both working on the business and in the business, from compiling paperwork, running reports and calling clients, through to long term strategy, people management and marketing strategy.
