Incredible opportunity to build a new data architecture function from the ground up within a major name in the financial sector. This role blends hands-on technical delivery with strategic influence, giving you a real say in how the organization shapes its future data landscape.
Daily Rate contract role - 6 months- strong possibility of extension.
What You’ll Do:
Design and deliver modern, scalable, cloud-native data platforms using Confluent and Databricks
Lead the development of enterprise data models and architecture best practices
Drive towards a single source of truth across a complex environment
Balance cost, performance, and compliance with PCI DSS, APRA CPS 234, CPG 235, and scheme obligations
Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders while staying hands-on
About You:
Deep experience with Confluent and Databricks (essential)
Strong understanding of streaming architectures, lakehouse design, and data governance
Background in cloud migrations and hybrid data ecosystems
Strategic thinker who loves building things right from the start
