We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support the migration of on-prem SQL databases to Microsoft Azure. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, cloud platforms, and business stakeholders, translating complex data and platform requirements into clear, actionable delivery outcomes.
This is a hands-on, technical BA role.
Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements for migrating SQL databases to Azure.
Work with architects and engineers on solutions leveraging:
Azure SQL / Azure Synapse
Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data ingestion and orchestration
Databricks for data transformation and analytics
Translate business and data requirements into:
Data models
Source-to-target mappings
Pipeline and transformation logic
Support Azure DevOps:
Backlog management
User stories, acceptance criteria
Sprint planning and delivery tracking
Lead and coordinate UAT activities:
Define UAT scope, scenarios, and test cases
Support defect triage and resolution
Validate data accuracy, reconciliation, and quality
Act as the bridge between business users, data teams, and cloud engineers, ensuring alignment on outcomes and constraints.
Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst in data-centric environments.
Proven experience working on cloud data migrations, ideally from on-prem SQL to Microsoft Azure.
Solid understanding of:
SQL databases (querying, schema, performance concepts)
Azure Data Factory
Databricks
Azure DevOps
Experience documenting:
Data flows
Data transformations
Integration and interface specifications
Hands-on involvement in UAT planning and execution.
Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.
