Pega Developer 4 Month Contract - Start ASAP

Our client, a State Government organisation, is seeking a skilled Pega Developer to join their dynamic team on a 4 month Contract - with the opportunity to extend. 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Pega platforms, a solid understanding of software development life cycles, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your ability to communicate effectively across teams will be instrumental in delivering quality outcomes aligned with client needs.

Core Pega Technical Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Pega Platform, particularly recent versions: Pega 8.x and ideally Pega 24.
  • Proficiency in case managementbusiness process management (BPM)declarative rulesflowsstagesSLAs, and assignments.
  • Expertise in rule resolution, class hierarchy design, data modeling, UI development.
  • Experience with integrations: REST/SOAP services, connectors, file handling, email, and external system integrations (common in government portals for agency referrals, spatial data, payments, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Pega Guardrails, best practices for performance, security, and scalability in high-volume public-facing applications.
  • Familiarity with Pega Dev Studio (formerly Designer Studio) for development, debugging, and testing.
  • Relevant certifications: Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) or System Architect (CSA) highly regarded; newer version-specific certs advantageous.

Additional Desirable Skils:

  • Understanding of Pega Government Platform features tailored for public sector use cases (e.g., citizen services, compliance workflows, transparency features).
  • Exposure to AI/ML features in newer Pega versions (e.g., predictive analytics, case insights, or AI-assisted decisioning), as DPHI is actively exploring AI for planning assessments and efficiency.
  • Testing skills: unit testing, scenario testing, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) with diverse stakeholders (councils, agencies, industry).

General/Supporting Skills:

  • Solid Java fundamentals (since Pega is Java-based), plus familiarity with web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, XML/JSON).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to translate complex planning/business rules into automated processes.
  • Excellent communication for working with non-technical stakeholders.
