Our client, a leading financial services technology provider, is seeking a Java Lead Engineer to join their Digital Platforms Technology division based in Galway, Ireland. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team within the growing technology division, responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced full-stack applications serving over 500 Fortune 1000 companies.
As the technical lead, you will collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Developers, Quality Assurance, and Architects to craft scalable solutions that enhance the customer experience within Stock Plan Services. You will take ownership of technical direction, foster a collaborative environment, mentor team members, and ensure delivery excellence with an emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading Agile squads in the full software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality, performant web applications.
- Architecting and implementing front-end applications primarily using Angular, and back-end services with Java Spring Boot.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate complex business challenges into efficient, scalable software solutions.
- Ensuring adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and test coverage through continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Mentoring and guiding team members to enhance skill development and promote engineering excellence.
- Engaging with stakeholders to communicate technical concepts clearly and align on delivery milestones.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience, with proven leadership in full-stack technology projects.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful Web Services, and modern front-end frameworks, especially Angular.
- Experience with API management tools such as Swagger, Integration technologies like Java Camel, and client-side technologies including TypeScript, RxJS, Jest, and related build tools.
- Proficient in containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Well-versed in Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, Maven), and automated testing strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
