This 12-month fixed-term contract is suited to someone who likes being close to the technology, solving practical issues, supporting internal users and improving the way Microsoft infrastructure and endpoint services are managed.
This is not a cloud architecture or DevOps role. It is a hands-on operational infrastructure role where you will work across Azure administration, M365, Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, patching, compliance and escalation support.
The role
You’ll join a small internal technology team and help support day-to-day infrastructure operations while contributing to smaller uplift initiatives across endpoint management, patching and Microsoft cloud services.
The environment is broad, so this would suit someone who enjoys jumping between systems, troubleshooting logically and working closely with both infrastructure colleagues and the helpdesk.
Your work will include:
- Supporting BAU infrastructure operations across Microsoft and hybrid environments
- Managing and troubleshooting Windows endpoint environments
- Working with Intune, Autopilot, SCCM/MECM and device compliance
- Supporting patching and update management across endpoint and server environments
- Assisting with M365 administration across Teams, Exchange and SharePoint
- Troubleshooting Azure resources including VMs, access, networking and permissions
- Supporting MFA, Conditional Access, Defender and general security controls
- Handling escalations from the helpdesk and working with internal business users
- Contributing to smaller operational uplift projects rather than large transformation programs
What we’re looking for
You’ll suit this role if you are practical, reliable and comfortable working in a BAU-heavy infrastructure environment. You don’t need to be an architect — we’re looking for someone who can administer, troubleshoot, support and improve existing systems.
You’ll bring experience across several of the following:
- Azure administration, including VMs, networking basics, RBAC and troubleshooting
- Intune, Autopilot, endpoint management and application deployment
- SCCM/MECM, Windows patching, Autopatch or Azure Update Manager
- M365 administration across Exchange, Teams and SharePoint
- Active Directory / Entra ID, MFA and Conditional Access
- Monitoring, compliance or vulnerability tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Tenable or similar
- Hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure environments
- Working with service desk or helpdesk teams on escalated issues
