Overview
We are seeking a commercially focused Process Automation Manager to lead digital transformation and process improvement initiatives across a complex business environment. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational performance through automation, systems integration, and scalable digital solutions.
The successful candidate will work across multiple functions to modernise processes, implement workflow technologies, and deliver measurable business outcomes. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, technical understanding, and hands-on delivery capability.
Responsibilities
Process Transformation & Automation
- Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise, and automate business processes.
- Replace manual and spreadsheet-based activities with scalable digital workflows and automated solutions.
- Support implementation of low-code tools, workflow platforms, integrations, and automation technologies.
- Analyse existing processes and design improved future-state workflows.
- Promote process consistency and reduce duplication across teams and functions.
- Improve operational visibility through enhanced reporting, dashboards, and data quality initiatives.
Project Delivery & Change
- Lead transformation initiatives from discovery through implementation and benefits realisation.
- Develop business cases, delivery plans, and project documentation.
- Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to agreed objectives.
- Support change management and user adoption activities to maximise long-term value.
- Monitor and track measurable benefits including efficiency gains, cost reduction, and productivity improvements.
Business Engagement
- Partner with stakeholders across operational and functional teams to understand business challenges and identify solutions.
- Facilitate workshops, process reviews, and discovery sessions to prioritise improvement opportunities.
- Translate operational requirements into practical digital and automation solutions.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and outcomes to key stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
Governance & Technology Alignment
- Ensure solutions align with internal governance, security, and architectural standards.
- Coordinate with technology teams and external suppliers during delivery activities.
- Support system integration, workflow optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clear documentation relating to processes, delivery activities, and operational outcomes.
Experience
Essential
- Experience delivering process improvement, automation, or digital transformation initiatives within complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of workflow optimisation and operational efficiency principles.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable business improvements through technology and automation.
- Experience working with enterprise systems, digital workflows, integrations, or low-code platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work across both business and technical environments.
Desirable
- Experience working within multi-site, shared services, or group structures.
- Familiarity with Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with automation technologies such as RPA, workflow tools, APIs, or cloud-based platforms.
- Knowledge of change management and user adoption practices.
- Experience using data and reporting tools to support decision-making and performance tracking.
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in automation, digital transformation, or project delivery roles.
- Relevant certifications such as Agile, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or project management qualifications are advantageous.
