Join our client in a newly created leadership role where you will be responsible for shaping and delivering their Data Governance Strategy. This hands-on position will focus on designing and implementing governance frameworks, establishing data ownership and stewardship models, defining standards and policies, and embedding governance practices across the organisation.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the organisation's Data and AI Governance strategy.
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
- Drive data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and cataloguing initiatives.
- Implement data ownership and stewardship models across business functions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and data privacy requirements.
- Partner with business and technology teams to maximise the value of data assets.
- Promote a strong data-driven culture and support the adoption of AI-enabled decision-making.
- Lead and develop a high-performing governance team while engaging with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Your Experience
- 8+ years' experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Strategy, or a related field.
- Proven track record of implementing governance frameworks within large, complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and risk controls.
- Experience working with governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
- Knowledge of data privacy and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.
- Experience leading teams and influencing senior business stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CDMP, DCAM, or similar are advantageous.
- Exposure to AI Governance or Responsible AI initiatives would be beneficial.
