Senior Data Migration Analyst

We're supporting a major business transformation programme and are looking for a Data Migration Analyst to help shape how critical data is prepared for migration. This role sits at the early stages of the data lifecycle, with a focus on understanding existing datasets, defining how they should be structured, and supporting a large-scale business separation. It's well suited to a technically minded data analyst who enjoys working with complex data rather than developing reports or building data pipelines.
Your Responsibilities
- Review existing data models and identify how data should be segmented for migration.
- Produce data mapping documentation and define transformation rules to support migration activities.
- Analyse datasets to identify data quality issues and support cleansing and validation efforts.
- Verify migrated data through reconciliation and business rule validation.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
- Review vendor deliverables and ensure they align with agreed data standards.
- Create clear documentation to support migration planning, validation and governance.
Your Experience
- 3+ years' experience in data analysis with a strong focus on data migration, data mapping or large-scale transformation projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex data structures and define migration requirements.
- Experience with data quality, validation and reconciliation activities.
- Strong Excel skills, with SQL experience highly desirable.
- An understanding of data engineering concepts, with a preference for analysis and data preparation rather than pipeline development.
- Experience working with HRIS or HR-related datasets would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
