Partnering with a client in the financial services industry undertaking a major investment in its data platform for a 12-month day rate contract.
This position would suit an experienced Principal Data Engineer or Technical Lead who enjoys remaining hands-on while providing technical leadership, driving engineering best practices and supporting the successful delivery of complex data initiatives.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable cloud-based data engineering solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to a team of data engineers.
- Design, build and optimise ETL pipelines across multiple layers of the data platform.
- Champion engineering best practices and contribute to the overall data architecture.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of key data projects.
Your Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks.
- Previous experience working within the insurance or broader financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and modern data platform design.
- Proven track record designing and managing complex ETL pipelines.
- Experience leading engineering teams and providing technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across multiple teams.
