I’m partnering with a leading organisation that is looking for a Senior Data Modeler to join their technology team in Galway. This is a key role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of how data should be structured, while also being comfortable working with senior stakeholders and engineering teams to make sure the right solutions are delivered.
Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, data needs and potential gaps.
Create and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models across a range of projects.
Work closely with engineering teams to translate data designs into robust, scalable database solutions.
Provide technical direction to engineering teams, making sure solutions are designed correctly rather than simply taking the quickest approach.
Identify opportunities to reuse existing enterprise data models and reduce duplication.
Analyse and resolve complex data issues across projects and production environments.
Document and present data models and database solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Help ensure data and technology decisions align with wider enterprise standards and strategy.
Work closely with DBAs, architects, engineers and subject matter experts across the organisation.
5+ years’ experience across data modelling, data analysis and/or database development.
Strong experience creating conceptual, logical and physical data models.
Hands-on experience with SAP PowerDesigner or a similar data modelling tool.
Strong database development experience, with Oracle experience highly relevant.
Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with experience working with data warehouses or large-scale data environments.
Experience with Snowflake would be beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex data requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders.
Comfortable challenging technical decisions and influencing engineering teams towards the right long-term solution.
Experience working across business, technology and engineering teams in an Agile environment.
Financial Services experience would be advantageous.
