Deputy Project Manager Rail

There is an opportunity for a Deputy Project Manager role within the ATP project to support the project manager to deliver trackside package of works, stakeholder management, interface management, management of the government agency operations, asset and maintenance stakeholders


Key Accountabilities

  • Project manage the delivery of ATP trackside work packages.
  • Support Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in day to day activities such as preparation of presentations to senior executives, preparation of meeting minutes, and management of comments and modifications registers, organising stakeholder meetings and workshops.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the Design and Construction Contractor and the interfacing Professional Services Contractor’ ensuring that activities comply with expected quality and durations.
  • Assist with the identification and proactive management of project specific risks and ensuring development of practical mitigation measures.
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts within the ATP program and ongoing interface with wider project stakeholders such as the government agency maintainers and operations staff.
  • Manage and coordinate project submissions to the government agency Configuration Control Board.


Essential requirements are:

Tertiary qualifications in a Design, Engineering or Construction discipline and /or equivalent industry experience.

This role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW).  Knowledge of rail signalling advantageous.
