Technical Business Analyst
Fantastic opportunity to join a large and established bank in a daily rate contract within their core banking modernization team. Excellent role for a technical business analyst or systems business analyst to step into project management.
Our client is large banking and financial services organization. They have a big brand name established across Australia.
They are growing rapidly through a digital focus and high-profile lending increasing their market share. Due to rapid growth, they need a Technical Business Analyst to join their growing core banking modernization team. This team works in an agile way, actioning various small projects along the way in different technical areas of the bank as It own’s and operates the core banking technology platforms.
As a technical business analyst/systems business analyst your focus would be to identify, define and translate various business requirements into simple IT projects. You would be a key hub in the agile wheel for the technical project development. For example, you would be working on projects within real time payments, Open Banking and NPP, or building APIs for faster decision making, or tweaking and customizing the lending platform to reduce two unrequired steps.
You understand how business works and technology can be used to enable faster functioning/processing/ streamlining of different business objectives. You would work as an IT enabler and lead small project’s teams within the core banking area, working with developers and testers to help improve and implement business objectives.
Be part of an agile development team. Work with developers to capture estimates for system change Use technical knowledge to facilitate liaison between technical teams and the business. Write user stories.
Work closely with the Platform Architect and Project Manager to create and maintain a backlog according to business value or ROI. Contribute to the design of system changes. Articulate technical features, detailed technical user stories and acceptance criteria.
The successful applicant will need to be versatile, and able to handle a variety of different tasks, ranging from production support activities to participation in large-scale projects. The ability to work at speed and on multiple activities simultaneously will be an advantage.
5+ years’ experience in a Technical BA/BSA role, preferably in the banking or similar sector.
Strong data modelling and data definition experience. Experience in working in a Scrum framework using Jira and Confluence
Experience with gathering and documenting business requirements. Ability to take the initiative, lead and influence development and testing teams to achieve targeted outcomes would be a bonus.
Strong technical and software development background in an earlier career. Earlier experience in banking/financial services software and platform projects would be well regarded but is not compulsory.
Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure any data and analytics provided is appropriate, relevant, and insightful
Understand how data is stored in and flows between systems and design changes to data flows .Implementing and managing checks and controls to validate data integrity
