Statutory Planning Officer

  • Contract: ASAP - 12 Months (Highly likely to extend)
  • Rate: $555 per day + Super
  • Location: Sydney CBD office with the option to WORK FROM HOME. 
  • Checks: 2x References, WWCC, Police Check

 

Primary purpose of the role
Provide advice and support on a range of statutory planning assessments and related matters to enable informed infrastructure planning decisions and to ensure compliance with relevant statutory obligations and legislative requirements.

Key accountabilities:
• Provide high quality advice and recommendations on the application of state and local government planning policies, regulations and legislation to support the effective implementation and delivery of infrastructure planning projects.
• Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports, submissions, briefing notes and effective conditions of consent to meet statutory and compliance obligations.

• Liaise and engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate positive stakeholder engagement and support informed statutory planning outcomes.
• Develop, maintain and review statutory planning processes, procedures and related documentation to support alignment with best practice planning principles and standards.
• Identify, analyse and evaluate current and emerging planning issues, and develop and recommend targeted solutions, to support ongoing continuous improvement and innovation across the planning portfolio.
• Analyse and interpret changes and developments in statutory planning legislation and regulations and assess their implications for school infrastructure planning proposals.
• Participate in statutory planning projects and initiatives that build and support cultural awareness, trust and mutual respect in line with relevant legislative requirements, standards and guidelines.

 

 

Essential requirements
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning and/or equivalent experience of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and other relevant legislation as it effects land use and property development including licences, subdivision, rezoning and construction.
