Experienced Business Analyst required for an exciting contract role within a large NSW Government department. 

 

Senior Business Analyst
12 month contract
$1150 per day plus super 
CBD and WFH
NSW Government 

Start date: End of January 2023

 

About the role:

Lead the identification and analysis of business opportunities available through process re-engineering or transformation and develop initiatives that deliver the best value proposition for the department. Provide research and analysis to support the business transformation process including the review of existing channels, process re-engineering and the development of new processes to support the achievement of the business objectives and support process and system improvement initiatives for the Program. This role will provide support to a Chief, General Manager or Project Workstream Lead.

 

Key Accountabilities:

• Undertake analysis and provide insights on current processes to support the review and re-design of business systems.
• Analyse and report on the department's performance and provide high level reporting to support planned initiatives.
• Conduct and communicate complex analytical modelling and cost benefit analysis with stakeholders at a variety of levels across the organisation.
• Critically review business processes and recommend improvements.
• Provide independent and high-level advice and analysis to business leaders on opportunities for process re-engineering.
• Anticipate and assess changes which impacts the business and exercise judgement in the absence of precedent and making decisions with significant impact.
• Facilitate transformation through the provision of well-research analysis and information to the business and by ensuring that the requirements for change are clearly identified.
• Research, develop and implement clear and measurable programs of work that support and enhance the changes of the business.
• Contribute to the shared sense of direction and a culture of performance, accountability and service across a team of professionals and support staff.
• Maintain knowledge of the relevant legislation, processes and analytical requirements for the entities under the department and contribute to the development, evaluation and review of processes, and systems that support ongoing commercial viability.
• Development of papers for decision making at Executive level.
• Prepare and source a range of project related documents, including status updates and reports.
• Coordinate follow up action for project management using discretion, initiative and confidentiality to enable highly sensitive matters to be dealt with appropriately.
• Support delivery and implementation of change initiatives.

 

Essential requirements: 

Relevant tertiary education, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through extensive practical experience
• Business acumen
• Highly developed quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

Experience with Guidewire and Click systems advantageous

Experience within reporting advantageous

Experience within the Insurance industry advantageous
