Senior Planning Officer

Title: Senior Infrastructure Planning Officer 
Contract: ASAP – June 30th (Highly likely to extend)
Location: Mixed, Work from home & in Parramatta office,
Pay rate: $68 - $75 per hour + Super

 



Role Description:

Primary purpose of the role:
The Senior Infrastructure Planning Officer is responsible for supporting and assisting the Manager in delivering a portfolio of grant programs provided for the delivery of critical infrastructure to support housing supply in New South Wales.

 



Key accountabilities:

• Negotiate, administer and manage Infrastructure Funding Agreements in accordance with plans and program objectives.
• Communicate and negotiate with developers, agencies, Councils, wider community and other internal and external stakeholders, advocating preferred actions to achieve overall objectives, particularly in regard to the delivery of state infrastructure.
• Ensure management systems are robust, auditable and continue to meet the needs of the Department through the development of program and project controls.
• Provide high quality reports, advice and recommendations on the economic and financial aspects of projects under the grants program, and in particular the Special Infrastructure Contributions grants program.
• Develop, implement and review policy as it relates to the day-to-day negotiation, administration and management of funding agreements and program delivery, in consideration with directives and programs. Contribute to the development of reports and other documents requiring application of professional knowledge and skills within the broader policy context.
• Advise and support operational teams regarding the implementation of policy relating to Special Infrastructure Contributions and infrastructure contributions and actively contribute to the development of the business plan.
• Provide analysis and advice on infrastructure implementation and planning matters to a wide range of stakeholders, including the Director, Executive Director, Departmental Staff, Government agencies, committees and interest groups.
• Manage the engagement and supervision of consultants, including preparation of project briefs.

 

 


Required experience to be successful in the role:
• Understanding of land use or infrastructure planning, and project delivery
• Understanding of the whole of life project lifecycle from planning and design management to construction and operation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and management expertise.
Essential requirements:
• Degree in town planning, engineering, construction management, environmental management, property or a related field
