Assistant Project Officer

  • Contract: ASAP - June 2024 (a possibility it may extend)
  • Location: Work from home / Flexible – a minimum 2 days a week in the Parramatta office, 
  • Rate: $69.55 Per hour + super 
  • You must hold Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship and reside in NSW. 



Key accountabilities of the role:

 •           Update and collate documentation and records to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed contractual requirements.

•            Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.

•            Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning.

•            Review and monitor the effectiveness and appropriateness of systems, processes and procedures to best support program outcomes and make any recommendations for improvement.

•            Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.

•            Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordination of committee meetings and preparation of briefs, reports and papers, to support project management delivery.

•            Support the management of stakeholder relationships through effective communication, record keeping and provision of status updates.



Key Challenges of the role         

•            Supporting multiple activities in line with agreed standards and objectives to achieve project objectives within a high volume and evolving work environment and managing competing demands and priorities.

•            Dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholders and understanding the complexities of issues impacting projects, and escalating issues when required.



Inherent requirements of the role/ Essential Skills and Experience         

•            MS Office skills, in particular strong Excel competence, to collate, manage and analyse datasets.

•            Demonstrated experience assisting in delivering successful program/project outcomes on time and to quality standards. 

•            Experience of contract management and/or Content Manager 10 (Trim) application.

 •           Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship and reside in NSW is an absolute must.
