Senior Stakeholder & Engagement Officer

  • Contract: ASAP - Nov 2024 (with extensions)
  • Pay Rate: $613.00 p/d + Super
  • Location: Work from home 2 days, Sydney CBD 3 days.
  • You must hold Australian Permanent residency or citizenship and reside in NSW

Primary purpose of the role
Developing and managing construction-specific engagement forums and activities to inform and influence internal and external industry stakeholders. You will work within a small high functioning  team working in projects, women in construction etc.

 

 

A snapshot of your responsibilities within the role:

  • Support through comms & engagement & to rollout policy
  • Engaging with tier 1 contractors – John Holland, Lend Lease. Australian construction assoc. & unions.
  • Organising, planning & prep work for events.
  • You will be arranging round tables
  • Event planning, developing presentations for the government agencies teams.
  • Liaise with speakers, draft intranet articles, set up forums
  • You will be proactive in searches in the industry, reading media articles.




Key accountabilities
• Maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage key partners and provide updates regarding project status and implementation.
• Coordinate targeted communications and engagement activities with construction industry and NSW Government infrastructure delivery agencies.
• Provide support across the communications team, including Corporate Communications and Media and Parliamentary services teams.
• Manage, oversee and evaluate all aspects of planning, development and implementation for a range of communication and engagement initiatives including developing project plans, coordinating resources, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time and to quality standards and within agreed scope.
• Coordinate across the business to prepare draft briefing notes, event briefs and speaking notes, Budget Estimate papers and communications material including best practice case studies and digital content.
• Update INSW website content and manage initiatives to drive online traffic.
• Provide advice and information to stakeholders through the preparation of high-quality communication material.
• Manage the INSW inbox and team reporting.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of communications strategies for identified projects and change management underpinned by quality research, analysis and best practice that supports the achievement of the organisational vision.
• Support the delivery of all internal and external communications activities.
• Support the in-house digital platforms management, including regular updates, and collaborate with the broader team to deliver digital best practice.





Key knowledge and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in media, marketing or communications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • IAP2 Certification or substantial experience in management of complex communications and/or engagement initiatives.
  • Proven experience in working within the construction industry is a must.
  • Previous government communication & engagement experience is required.
  • LinkedIn or digital experience is a benefit.
  • Hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency is a must.
