Senior Project Officer

Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Officer within the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of a priority project aimed at enhancing user experience. You will utilise your expertise in project management and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly SharePoint intranet, to drive efficiency and collaboration across various initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical administration and ensure optimal operation/function of Microsoft-based platforms, with a particular focus on SharePoint intranet sites.
• Assist with all project-related tasks such as booking meetings, dealing with consultants, taking notes, and other administrative duties to facilitate smooth project operations.
• Support the project throughout planning, design, evaluation, and implementation phases to ensure appropriate technical solutions are deployed effectively.
• Maintain and produce technical documentation for the wider technical team, ensuring comprehensive records of systems and processes are maintained.
• Design and develop custom applications using SharePoint, leveraging expertise to meet specific business requirements.
• Develop and implement Business Process Flows, Workflows, and Business Rules to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Engage in additional development tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in technical principles, practices as well as project management.
• Proficient in various administrative duties that form part of project management.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 suite of products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
• Strong attention to detail and a self-starter mentality, with a passion for technology, learning, and personal growth.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Good problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
• Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all tasks and deliverables.


Must have Australian citizenship or Permanent Resident and should be residing in NSW.
