Program Manager

We are seeking a Program Manager to join the team at one of the federal departments.  Given department's work revolves around information and statistics and the presentation of statistics to promote better health and wellbeing, their projects have a significant dependency on data, ICT and commonwealth and state/territory data providers.  Your main responsibility will be to manage the program of works required for department to deliver for the National Disability Data Asset (NDDA) which is being established by new Australian National Data Integration Infrastructure (ANDII).  This will include working in collaboration with the department's project teams and other external stakeholders.  To succeed in this role, you will have a good grasp on delivering data-oriented projects with multiple stakeholders, be a great communicator and team player. Program manager skills:

  1. Have strong program management experience with the delivery of large and complex data projects- The 'large and complex data sets' point to 2 aspects; 1) Linkage. When the underlying data structures do not follow database design principles, then linkage is time-consuming and cumbersome. 2) Time series. In a dataset when new data elements are added when the data elements' meaning changes and/or when the structure of the dataset for that year differs from previous years, creating a time-series is time-consuming and cumbersome.
  2. Have a broad knowledge of project and program management methodologies

  4. The ability to work with a wide range of individuals
  5. Strong leadership and managerial skills with appropriate experience
