Senior IT Business Analyst

  • Contract: Start ASAP -  21/05/2025
  • Pay Rate: $850- $1000 per day + Super
  • Location: Sydney CBD office and Work from home
  • Required: Clear police check, Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship and reside in NSW.

 

About the role:

This role will be in the IT Delivery Team.  This team is responsible for the successful delivery of approved projects. Business analysis services for approved projects or new demand items. A technical business analyst with IT service management experience, over and above business application development experience.

  • Will deliver business analysis services for approved projects, as well as provided analysis services for newly identified demand items
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and develops long-term productive working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Can inform, advise and influence stakeholders

 

 

Your responsibilities in the role:

  • Conduct technical analysis for projects involving system integration or cybersecurity remediation.
  • Manage IT service management processes, including change and release management, and transition to operations by preparing support manuals, service designs, and RACIs.
  • Perform business analysis for application development and business process re-engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including development, DevOps, testing, and infrastructure teams, as well as service partners and business representatives, to influence and negotiate project outcomes.
  • Apply Agile and Waterfall methodologies to plan and execute business analysis, requirements gathering, and testing, ensuring adherence to project disciplines and procedures.
  • Re-engineer IT processes by assessing and redesigning "As Is" and "To Be" processes to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance controls.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple workstreams, ensuring successful delivery of project tasks.
  • Resolve conflicts among stakeholders, escalating issues to the project manager when necessary.

Resources needs to be able to respectfully challenge the requirements provided & suggest process re-engineering opportunities

Resources needs to be flexible, so able to pick up and pause work from time to time - ability to quickly context shift is a must.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience you will have:

  • Technical analysis for projects requiring integration between systems or cybersecurity remediation (combined min of 5 years)
  • Experience in IT service management processes including: IT change and release management and transition to operate processes including preparing operating support manuals, service designs, RACIs (2 years)
  • Business analysis in Application Development & Business Process Re-engineering Projects (min of 5 yrs.)
  • Experience working (influencing & negotiating) with a diverse set of stakeholders (of varying seniority) including: development teams, Dev Ops teams, testing teams, infrastructure teams, service partners and business representatives
  • Experienced in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies (e.g. planning business analysis, business requirements, functional requirements, requirements traceability matrices, testing; Agile ceremonies, disciplines and procedures )
  • IT Process Re-engineering Experience – “As Is” and “To Be”; assess and redesign to eliminate efficiencies and/or improve controls and/or improve efficiency/effectiveness
  • Able to successfully prioritise, manage and deliver upon multiple streams of work
  • Able to deal with and manage conflict with different stakeholders, escalating to the project manager where appropriate.
  • Experience working in a team of business analysts, specifically sharing knowledge and work to improve efficiency and avoid duplication
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, tailored to the audience
  • Experience in collecting, collating and analysing data from diverse sources
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in managing small projects, under the direction of a senior project manager or program manager (Desirable)
