Lunch Club Review April: Escargot, Elegance & A Spin Through Luna Park

Submitted on Fri 16 May 2025

This month’s Lunch Club was less “lunch break” and more “mini European holiday with a theme park twist.” Our team stepped into the charming world of Bouillon L'Entrecôte, where red wine flowed, French waiters charmed, and snails... well, there were some mixed opinions.

Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we hopped on a ferry, swapped fine dining for fairy floss, and ran wild through Luna Park like kids who just finished their first espresso.

What the Team Had to Say

Anna – 5/5

“This lunch club was one to remember! The restaurant alone would have earned a 4.7/5, but the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and spontaneous trip to Luna Park sealed the deal.

Food highlight for me was discovering that snails are actually delicious. Not slimy. Not weird. Just buttery, garlicky goodness. For my main, i ordered a posh plate of John Dory with scallop mousse, champagne and caviar sauce, as fancy as it sounds and even better than it reads. And for dessert: a no-fuss, classic crème brûlée, done right.

We ended the day racing down Coney Island slides and pretending to survive Squid Games. I couldn’t stop smiling."

Anna came for the wine, stayed for the snails, and left with a grin that could outshine the Luna Park face.

Daisy – 5/5

“I genuinely felt like I was in Paris, the music, the food, the ambiance. We had a great afternoon eating snails and sipping red wine, followed by playing arcade games and winning plush toys like it was 2003. A lovely day with the loveliest team.”

Daisy transported herself from the cobblestone charm of Paris to the neon buzz of Luna Park in one afternoon, and she’s still glowing.

Simon – 4.5/5

“Food was amazing, classic French food, really rich and full of flavour. Efficient and seamless service. Really good experience. The cheese souffle was amazing.

Id 100% recommend it as a really relaxed place to each lunch with some amazing food options – id love to go back and try some more stuff. Not a lot of options for vegetarians but plenty for pescatarians like me.”

Simon came, he soufflé-d, he conquered. Only lost half a point due to veggie variety. Otherwise, très bien!!

Frankie – 5/5

“The duck was delicious, the service was fabulous, and the French waiters really gave it that ‘we’re on holiday’ feel. 10/10 would recommend.”

Frankie embraced the French fantasy...and her duck dinner...with open arms and zero regrets.

Monique – 5/5

“The restaurant was beautiful, it felt like we were somewhere in the south of France, sipping expensive red wine. I tried snails for the first time, which ticked off a bucket list item but I can’t say I’d rush back to order them again, but that could just be personal preference as the other ladies tried them and loved them! The rest of the food was delicious. Especially the crème brûlée.”

Monique proved that even if you don’t go back for seconds on snails, firsts still count!

Final Thoughts & Overall Score

French fare, red wine, and a theme park finale? That’s the kind of chaotic elegance we love. The food was rich, the company was even richer, and the addition of Luna Park added that pinch of playfulness we didn’t know we needed.

Overall Score: 4.91/5

Until next time, we’ll be dreaming of soufflés and sugar highs. Bon appétit! 🐌🎠🍷
