About the Role

We’re seeking a Mid-Level Network Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance a rapidly expanding multi-vendor network. You’ll work hands-on with fibre and wireless technologies, respond to network incidents, assist with provisioning new services, and play an active role in performance optimisation and network upgrades.

This is a great fit for someone coming from a service provider or ISP environment who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, and working with emerging access technologies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve network incidents across Layer 2/3 (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, etc.)

  • Maintain and enhance IP/MPLS network operations

  • Assist with provisioning and commissioning of new fibre and wireless sites

  • Collaborate with vendors and field teams on escalations and upgrades

  • Monitor network performance and capacity using tools such as SolarWinds or Wireshark

  • Document network configurations and contribute to operational standards


Skills & Experience

  • 3–7 years’ experience as a Network Engineer or NOC Engineer (ideally in a telco/ISP)

  • Strong routing and switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, VLANs, STP)

  • Experience with MikroTik, Cisco, or Fortinet network equipment

  • Exposure to PON, G.Fast, mmWave or other last-mile technologies (highly regarded)

  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

  • CCNA, CCNP or JNCIA certification (minimum CCNA required)

  • Australian Citizen or PR holder

  • Willingness to work rostered shifts including some weekends (time in lieu provided)
