Cloud Security Engineer – Uplift & Automation (AWS/Azure)

Our client is looking for a senior, hands-on Cloud Security Engineer to uplift cloud controls and improve security outcomes across a modern cloud environment. This is an engineering-focused role for someone who enjoys building practical guardrails, strengthening posture, and driving measurable uplift (not a SOC “log watching” role).

What you’ll be doing

  • Design and implement cloud security controls across AWS/Azure environments
  • Build security improvements using Infrastructure as Code and automation
  • Run cloud risk assessments and threat modelling, then translate findings into engineering uplift
  • Improve security posture through configuration hardening, monitoring use-cases and remediation
  • Work across core security technologies (IAM, SIEM, EDR/XDR, WAF, vulnerability management)

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on cloud security engineering experience (AWS and/or Azure)
  • IaC capability (Terraform/CloudFormation/Bicep) and a DevSecOps mindset
  • Experience uplifting security posture and building scalable guardrails
  • Comfortable partnering with technical stakeholders and operating with high autonomy
  • Experience in regulated/enterprise environments is advantageous

Location / flexibility
North Sydney with flexible hybrid arrangements.
