Infrastructure Engineer

We are working with a Financial Services client on the search for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This role sits within a lean infrastructure team and has been created to help remove BAU load from senior technical staff, allowing them to focus on higher-value initiatives. As a result, this is a role for someone who is genuinely happy being hands-on, steady and customer-focused, with a strong grounding across the Microsoft stack and modern endpoint/infrastructure support.

The environment is heavily Microsoft-centric and the work split is approximately 75% BAU / 25% uplift, so this will suit someone who enjoys operational ownership, internal support and helping stabilise and improve the environment over time.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting day-to-day infrastructure operations and internal escalations alongside the helpdesk
  • Managing and supporting Azure resources, core Microsoft infrastructure and user provisioning
  • Working across Entra ID / identity / access / configuration issues
  • Supporting and uplifting the M365 environment
  • Taking ownership of or contributing to Intune administration and endpoint uplift
  • Assisting with application packaging, device deployment and modern management initiatives
  • Helping deliver smaller tech uplift projects depending on your strengths, particularly across desktop / endpoint engineering

What they’re looking for

  • Hands-on experience working in Azure
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Good exposure to Intune, ideally including ownership or uplift work
  • Experience working closely with a helpdesk / service desk and supporting internal users
  • Strong customer focus and willingness to work in a BAU-heavy environment
  • A calm, reliable and process-aligned style

Nice to have

  • Application packaging experience
  • Endpoint / EUC engineering depth
  • Experience with Autopilot, Conditional Access, patching, or hybrid identity
  • Broader exposure across Entra ID, device compliance, and modern workplace uplift

Role details

  • 12-month fixed term contract
  • Macquarie Park
  • 3 days onsite non-negotiable
  • Salary guide around $130k–$150k base + super
  • Must be comfortable committing to the full 12 months

This is a great opportunity for a strong mid-tier Infrastructure / EUC / Microsoft Engineer who wants a broad hands-on role in a supportive team, with a genuine mix of operational responsibility and practical uplift work.
