About the Role
Join a high-performing Delivery team on a major digital transformation program in a squad-based Agile environment. The team has grown from two to four squads, delivering value in structured quarterly increments. As a Functional Tester, you will validate user stories, features, and product increments end-to-end across multiple systems, from front-end applications to backend platforms and data warehouses. This hands-on, collaborative role works closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to embed quality, drive automation, and promote continuous improvement. You will flex across multiple squads based on demand, gaining exposure to diverse initiatives, technologies, and business domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end functional testing across multiple systems
- Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, integration, regression, UAT, and performance testing
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data
- Manage defects end-to-end using tools such as Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business analysts to ensure requirements are testable
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders
- Work across multiple Agile squads, contributing to sprint delivery and quarterly program increments
- Partner with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery outcomes
- Support the development and maintenance of automation frameworks and test suites
- Identify testing risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders
- Promote best practices in testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
- Support the growth of a Testing Centre of Excellence, driving consistent quality standards
Required Experience
- 5+ years of software testing experience
- 2+ years in Agile environments such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban
- Experience in novated leasing, fleet management, asset finance, non-bank or second-tier lenders
- Understanding of the full loan lifecycle, from origination to settlement and in-life management
- Hands-on functional testing across end-to-end systems, including workflow or low-code/no-code platforms such as Pega or Appian
- Experience in manual and automated testing using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, TestRail, JIRA, Zephyr, or HP ALM
- Ability to design test cases from business requirements and acceptance criteria
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery practices
- Experience working across multiple squads or complex delivery environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proactive, self-driven, and accountable
- Exposure to cross-platform testing tools such as BrowserStack
- Relevant certifications (ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester)
- Knowledge of financial services regulations such as APRA, PCI-DSS, or SOX
