Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer 12 Month Contract

My client is a Federal Government department delivering critical ICT infrastructure services is seeking a Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer to support the management, optimisation, and evolution of enterprise storage platforms across a complex environment.

This role will suit an experienced infrastructure specialist who is confident working across physical and virtual storage layers, engaging with technical stakeholders, and contributing to the ongoing stability and performance of mission-critical systems.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience designing, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting enterprise storage platforms (such as HPE 3PAR/Primera/Alletra, NetApp E-Series, Dell Data Domain, Brocade Fabric, SANnav, Scality Artesca)
  • Strong experience deploying, configuring, and managing storage systems across both physical and virtual environments, including SAN switching
  • Experience with backup and recovery technologies, particularly Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality design, build, and operational documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical teams and mentor junior staff
  • Experience working in large, complex ICT environments with enterprise infrastructure platforms
  • Exposure to emerging storage and data technologies, with the ability to contribute to future platform direction
  • Willingness to support occasional out-of-hours work and on-call rotations (desirable)

Location: Canberra (primarily onsite)
Start date: 27th April 2026
Security Clearance: Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Baseline Security Clearance
