A leading financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Technology Risk Manager to join its Technology function in a key role focused on embedding and strengthening risk management practices across the business.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Technology, Security, Data and the broader Risk community, you will help drive the Technology Risk strategy, support the Operational Risk Management Framework, and provide pragmatic, outcome-focused advice that enables the business to manage risk effectively while continuing to deliver.
This role will suit a strong Technology Risk professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, can build trusted relationships across the business, and brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to risk.
In this role, you will:
- Help define, support and deliver the Technology Risk strategy
- Embed risk management practices across the Technology function
- Provide practical guidance on technology investments, risk, controls and compliance obligations
- Drive key risk activities including incident management, issue management, risk and control assessments, and reporting
- Support audit activity, including coordination and management of responses
- Partner with Technology leaders and the broader Risk community to improve risk maturity and strengthen controls
- Contribute to risk culture, education and continuous improvement across Technology
- Lead or support deep-dive reviews into incidents, emerging risks and risk trends
To be successful, you will bring:
- Proven Technology Risk experience, ideally 7+ years, within financial services or a similarly regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of technology and cybersecurity risk management
- Experience across incident management, issue management, risk assessments, controls, audit and reporting
- The ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders across a matrix environment
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
- A pragmatic, calm and collaborative style that enables you to challenge constructively without getting people offside
- A genuine can-do attitude, adaptability and willingness to support others
Desirable experience:
- Exposure to Australian regulatory frameworks in relation to Technology / Information Security
- Understanding of data-related risk principles
- Relevant certifications such as CRISC, ISO27001, COBIT or ITIL
