Senior Engineer - Sydney Based

Engineers in this team own solutions end-to-end and contribute wherever their skills add the most value, whether that's AI, APIs, infrastructure or application development.
The team works with a modern cloud-native stack centred around AWS, AWS CDK, Java 21, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, TypeScript and GitHub Actions, following a full DevOps model where engineers own solutions end-to-end. AI is embedded throughout the engineering lifecycle using AWS Bedrock, AI coding assistants and agentic workflows.
What you'll be doing
- Contributing to scalable AWS-native infrastructure using CDK alongside experienced engineers
- Building backend services and APIs in Java 21 / Spring Boot with guidance and code review
- Developing TypeScript frontend features and end-to-end user experiences
- Working with PostgreSQL, Aurora and RDS as you develop your data skills
- Learning to use AI coding assistants effectively as a daily productivity tool
- Growing into operational ownership; monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement
- Participating in planning, demos and stakeholder engagement as your confidence builds
Who you are
- Strong AWS cloud engineering experience.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience (preferably AWS CDK) with evidence they've built and owned cloud environments themselves.
- Strong backend engineering skills (Java, Spring Boot, APIs).
- DevOps mindset with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, monitoring and observability experience.
- Exposure to AI technologies (Bedrock, AI coding assistants, agentic workflows) is desirable but not the primary focus.
- Comfortable working across the stack, including data and frontend when needed.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability and willingness to operate in a full DevOps, AI-native environment.

Salary: $150-180k base + super + bonus · Sydney hybrid
